1. Effect on thymus, adrenal gland, sex gland and acidophilic leucocytes count: Experiment show that this product can strengthen ACTH’s action on adrenals (weight increased) and thymus (atrophied), while no obvious decrease of acidophilic leucocyte is observed.
2. Anti-aging: In recent years, it has been found that the existence of SOD is closely related to the aging process. When organism is getting older, SOD lowers markedly. It has been approved in mice that as age is progressing, the SOD content in blood lowers. By feeding mice with Radix Polygoni multiflori, its SOD content increases after several months, indicating that it affects SOD, and is beneficial to anti-senility.
3. Bacteriostatic action: In In vitro antibacterial experiments, water extract of Radix Polygoni multiflori (prepared in different ways) shows antibacterial action to different extent on staphylococcus aureus and staphylococcus albus.
